'Estonian Art 20' book launch at Kumu
Estonian Art celebrates its 20th anniversary with a special publication that looks back on the last 20 years of Estonian contemporary art, as told from the perspective of the artists. Fifteen Estonian artists were invited to interview the artist who had influenced their work. The public launch party is taking place today Thursday, March 15 at Tallinn's Kumu Art Museum at 7:00 p.m.
Conversations between thirty artists are accompanied with portraits of the artists by internationally acclaimed photographer Mark Raidpere. ‘Estonian Art 20’ was designed by Jaanus Samma and edited by Estonian Art magazine’s editor Stacey Koosel.
The book features in-depth conversations by 30 contemporary artists, including Kai Kaljo & Jaan Toomik, Erki Kasemets & Ene-Liis Semper, Kaido Ole & Tōnis Saadoja, Peeter Laurits & Kadri Mälk, Tanel Veenre & Jaanus Samma, Sirja-Liisa Eelma & Krista Mölder, Sandra Jõgeva & Tanel Saar, Kiwa & Marco Laimre, Pille-Riin Jaik & Mark Raidpere, Ly Lestberg & Tanja Muravskaja, Laura Kuusk & Liina Siib, Marko Mäetamm & Mall Nukke, Raoul Kurvitz & Jass Kaselaan, Andres Lõo & Raul Keller and Flo Kasearu & Jüri Ojaver.
The book launch will feature an exciting entertainment programme with music for the evening by DJ Jesus and DJ NexTrax from DhmRecords. Estonian Art is a magazine dedicated to promoting Estonian art, design and architecture that has been published by the Estonian Institute since 1997. The magazine will celebrate its 20th anniversary book ‘Estonian Art 20’ with a public launch party on Thursday, March 15th at Kumu Art Museum of Estonia Kohvik (A. Weizenbergi 34) at 19:00.
