Gallery: Estonian women's football team defeats Latvia 1:0
The Estonian women's national football team hosted Latvia at the A. Le Coq Arena on Wednesday, defeating their southern neighbor 1:0.
The 30th match between the two teams ended with an victory for Estonia, with Kristina Bannikova's goal in the 53rd minute enough to lift Estonia over Latvia. Estonia has won 18 of the match-ups so far.
The test match was the first time this year the women's national team played in front of spectators. Since the match was played under special rules, allowing for more than six substitions, it will not be reflected on UEFA leaderboards.
The women's national team will play six qualifying matches for the 2021 UEFA Women's European Championship, with matches against Kosovo and Russia in September.
The women's team will also face the Netherlands, Slovenia and Turkey.
