The Office of the President confirmed on Wednesday that Pope Francis will visit Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania in September 2018.
"According to current information the visit to the Baltic states should take place on Sept. 16-18," a spokesman for the Estonian president told the Baltic News Service on Wednesday.
The offices of the Latvian and Lithuanian presidents also announced on Wednesday that the pope will visit the two countries next September.
The pope's visit is scheduled to take place in the same year that Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania celebrate their centennials.
The visit of Pope Francis would be the second papal visit to Estonia. So far the only pope who has stopped by is Pope John Paul II, who visited Estonia in September 1993.
