Olympic Wednesday: Two Estonians compete in Nordic combined

Although neither medaled in the event, two Estonians competed in the men's Nordic combined on Wednesday.

Nordic combined: Men's Individual Gundersen NH/10km

German Eric Frenzel, 29, took the gold with a jump of 106.5 meters (121.7 points) and a time of 24:51.4, while Japan's Akito Watabe, 29, earned the silver with a jump of 105.5 meters (123.7 points) and a time of +4.8 and Austrian Lukas Klapfer, 32, the bronze with a jump of 112 meters (130.6 points) and a time of +18.1.

Estonia's Kristjan Ilves, 21, came in 16th overall with a 104-meter jump, which had earned him ninth place and 112.8 points in the ski jumping competition round, and a time of +2:11.9. Karl-August Tiirmaa, 28, whose 87-meter jump earned him 68.9 points, came in 43rd overall with a time of +5:13.8.
