Olympic Thursday: Estonian makes Olympic debut

After her first event was rescheduled multiple times due to adverse weather conditions, Estonian alpine skier Anna Lotta Jõgeva, 18, made her Olympic debut in Pyeongchang on Wednesday.

Alpine skiing: Women's giant slalom

American Mikaela Shiffrin won the gold, with times of (2) 1:10.82 and (4) 1:09.20 and a total time of 2:20.02. Norway's Ragnhild Mowinckel took the silver, with times of (4) 1:11.17 and (5) 1:09.24, a total time of 2:20.41 and a difference of +0.39. Italian Federica Brignone took the bronze in the event, with times of (3) 1:10.91 and (8) 1:09.57, a total time of 2:20.48 and a difference of +0.46.

Jõgeva did not finish.
