Showers on final day of August, overnight temperatures continue to drop
The final day of August is expected to be a rainy one, going into the new school year. Forecast to look similar to the last few days as rainy and pleasant, albeit cloudy, days will alternate, the State Weather Service (Riigi ilmatennistus) says. Overnight temperatures are continuing to drop as the days go on.
Monday, August 31, will see downpours in some locations in Estonia. Steady northerly winds of 3-9 m/s will blow throughout the afternoon, the coasts will see gusts of up to 13 m/s. Temperatures during the day will stay in the 15-18 C range.
The evening will see intermittent clouds all over the country, with showers also something to look out for. The winds will remain steady as they were during the day. It will be warmest on the islands, temperatures between 13-16 C expected across Estonia.
While students heading into the school year should not be fearful of a thoroughly rainy welcome back, the chance of showers still remains high. Weekly temperatures through to Friday are forecast to stay in the 18-21 C range; overnight temperatures are continuing to drop, and since Tuesday and Wednesday nights are expected to fall under 10 C, Wednesday night's temperatures could even drop to 6 C.
