Klavan scores own goal in Cagliari season finale loss

Italian Serie A side Cagliari Calcio, home club of Estonian national team captain Ragnar Klavan, lost their final match of the season 3-0 to AC Milan, finishing 14th in the Italian top tier after a promising start to the season.
The home team took the lead in the 11th minute after Milan forward Rafael Leao's shot hit the post and bounced back toward defender Klavan, who was not able to react in time and directed the ball into his own net.
The match was then quiet until the 55th minute, when Milan scored twice, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring in the 55th and Samu Castillejo scoring in the 57th minutes.
Klavan was taken off in the 62nd minute of the season-ender, having played in 31 of the team's matches in the 2019/2020 season.
Cagliari finishes the season 14th, winning just one of their last 10 matches. After two losses to start the season, the team went on a hot streak, winning eight of their next 12 matches, with no losses in that period.
The winning streak was then brought to a halt, as the Sardinian club went on two separate four-match losing streaks in their next 12, finishing the season with 45 points.
Juventus had clinched season victory in late July, but lost to AS Roma in their season finale, finishing with 83 points. Inter came in second with 82 points, and the remaining Champions League spots were filled by third-place Atalanta and fourth-place Lazio.
