Cagliari drops points against Sampdoria, goalless period continues
Serie A side Cagliari Calcio, home club of Estonian captain Ragnar Klavan, had to admit 3:0 defeat at Sampdoria on Wednesday. Cagliari has gained just two points in their last four matches, scoring no goals in that period.
Sampdoria opened up scoring in the eighth minute after a Manolo Gabbiadini header. Sampdoria added to their lead in the 40th minute, when Federico Bonazzoli was accurate from long distance.
Cagliari made two substitions at halftime but could not stop Bonazzoli from adding one more in the 53rd minute after a terrific run and effort.
Ragnar Klavan did not enter the game on Wednesday.
Cagliari, after only gaining a total of three points over their last five matches, still holds 11th place on the season with 41 points. They will meet Sassuolo at home on Saturday at 8.30 p.m. Estonian time.
