Estonia women's epee team in the medals in Tokyo

27.07.21 SPORTS ... Estonia's women's epee team is through to the finals at the Tokyo Olympics after defeating Italy in the semi-final and Poland in the preceding round. This is the second time that Estonia has been in the medals in the event, after Katrina Lehis took bronze in the individual category at the weekend. The team will face South Korea, who overcame China in the other semi-final; even a loss in the final would mean a silver medal for Estonia.

26.07.21 SPORTS ... Estonian sailor Ingrid Puusta put out a good performance at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday and is ranked 15th halfway through the overall RS:X women's regatta. The men's one person Laser dinghy class finished their third of 10 races on Monday with Estonian Karl-Martin Rammo ranked 21st.

14-year old Eneli Jefimova gets 16th place in Olympic debut, Zirk 13th

26.07.21 SPORTS ... 14-year old Estonian swimmer Eneli Jefimova finished last in the 100 m breaststroke semi-finals at the Tokyo Olympics, giving her 16th place with a time of 1.07,58. Kregor Zirk finished 13th in the 200 m freestyle after shattering the Estonian record in the prelims.

Estonian star Ott Tänak's (Hyundai) streak of bad luck continued with tire failure on Friday knocking him out of the top 10. He was able to recoup some of the losses by winning the power stage on Sunday to collect five points in the standings.
