This year's Christmas tree, cut from the town of Kolu 35 kilometers southeast of Tallinn, was installed in Tallinn's Town Hall Square on Thursday.
The tree's candles will be lit on Advent Sunday, December 2, a press release from the city said. Last year, the city's tree broke near the base and toppled over in a strong wind, and then fell over again two days later. The tree was shortened from 24 meters to 17 meters to avoid a potential third incident.
