Gallery: Tammsaare Park playground to open in November

On July 20, the construction work of a playground will start in Tammsaare Park in Tallinn. The playground should be finished in November.
The playground will be built on the side of the theatre Estonia and the park, in the area between Estonia puiestee and the pavilion. In addition to the construction work, the final reconstruction of the sidewalk will be completed between the playground and the central park area.
Deputy Mayor of Tallinn Kalle Klandorf (Center Party) said the construction of a playground in Tammsaare Park will complete this stage of the renovation.
Anu Aus, the senior acting executive of Tallinn City Government, noted the playground will have a selection of different musical instruments with which children can test their musical skills, such as bongo drums and a xylophone. She added: "In addition, there is a slide and trampolines for fun. We hope children of different ages will find suitable activities in the new playground."
The construction work is being carried out by Mefab OÜ on behalf of the Tallinn Environment and Public Utilities Board (Tallinna keskkonna- ja kommunaalamet). The contractual cost of the work is €357,000 and the deadline for the work is November this year.
The reconstruction project of Tammsaare Park was composed by the architectural office Kadarik Tüür Arhitektid, which won the design competition organized by the Tallinn City Planning Board (Tallinna Linnaplaneerimise Amet). The work "Belle Epoque" won the competition.
