Special forces unit K-Komando took first place at a tactical paramedic competition held at the training center for the Järva district of the Estonian Defense League (Kaitseliit) on Friday.
The North Prefecture Rapid Response Unit took second place, and the Estonian Defence Forces' Military Police came in third.
The goal of the competition was to supplement the competence of Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) paramedics, and to increase the quality of services for all instutions involved. In emergency situations, the police is often the first responder which is why the skills for tactical medicine are necessary.
