Spain overcame France 2:1 in Tuesday's semi-final, while England pulled off another last minute victory against the Netherlands on Wednesday night in their semi-final clash, with the same score line.

Spain is a three-time European Championships winner, most recently in 2012, and won the FIFA World Cup in 2010. Spain is unbeaten in the tournament, while England drew two of its Group C games (against Denmark and Slovenia) and was the runner-up against Italy at the 2020 Euros, held in 2021 due to the pandemic. England last won a major international competition, the World Cup, in a different era, way back in 1966.
