Video: Gumball Rally Wraps Up With Seven Arrests
Gumball 3000, a multi-country, celebrity road trip that came through Estonia yesterday, kept police busy bringing seven speeding-related arrests.
A total of 18 exotic cars participating in the internationally followed celebrity event were pulled over for breaking the speed limit, with the fastest of them clocked at 189 kph, police said. Drivers who breached limits by over 40 kilometers per hour were arrested.
"Although we warned the participants about police patrols through the event organizer, we nevertheless caught cars driving at dangerously high speeds,“ said directing police official Tarmo Miilits.
Meanwhile, the public was kept entertained in Tallinn's Old Town, where the exotic cars and celebrities like David Hasselhoff and Tony Hawk could be seen. The parade of cars included a Kombat, an armored vehicle produced in Estonia by a Russian-based company.
