Estonian racing driver Martin Rump wins in Abu Dhabi

Estonian racing driver Martin Rump has taken his first win of the 2025 endurance racing season, as he and Latvian co-driver Valters Zviedris dominated their class at the prestigious 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi.
The Baltic duo triumphed in the 992 category, driving a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, with the Mühlner Motorsport team.
The six-hour race at the famous Yas Marina Circuit in the Emirati capital saw the Belgian team starting from second place on the grid.
In total, Rump and Zviedris completed 157 laps on the Abu Dhabi circuit within the allotted six hours, finishing just over a minute ahead of their closest competitors from a field of 14.
The win is even more notable given they were a two-driver set-up, whereas many competing teams had three drivers per car.
Post-race, Rump said: "Without a doubt, this is a very important win for me."
"It is my second season with Mühlner, and while we've shown a lot of potential and competed for podiums, we hadn't managed to make it happen before. This time we hit the jackpot with a strong victory," added the Estonian racer.
"I'm so happy about this win because, honestly, I can't even remember the last time I raised a winner's trophy. This was a true Baltic two-man show with Valters," he went on.
