Reena Pärnat highest ever worldwide ranked Estonian archer

Archer Reena Pärnat now ranks 25th in the world, the highest position ever achieved by an Estonian competitor.
Pärnat, who competes in the recurve category, made her achievement after finishing fourth at the indoor World Cup stage in Nîmes, France, at the weekend.
She scored 580 points in qualification, securing 13th place among 102 women entrants, and first defeated Italy's Chiara Rebagliati 6-4. Then she faced Spain's Elia Canales, ranked sixth in the world, in the main draw.
The winner was decided in a one-arrow shoot-off after a 5-5 tie, where both athletes hit a 10. However, since Pärnat's arrow landed closer to the bullseye, she was declared the winner.
In the quarterfinals, the Estonian beat Italy's Vanessa Landi 6-4, only to go down 6-0 in the semifinals to Landi's compatriot Lucilla Boari, who went on to take silver.
In the bronze medal playoff, Pärnat faced France's Victoria Sebastian. Pärnat took a 5-3 lead, but Sebastian tied it at 5-5.
The winner was decided in a shoot-off once again, but this time it wasn't to be for Pärnat, who scored a 9 against Sebastian's perfect 10, meaning the Estonian was just outside the medals.
Other Estonian competitors in Nîmes included compound archers Meeri-Marita Paas and Lisell Jäätma in the women's events, and Robin Jäätma in the men's.
The latter had previously won in Nîmes three times, but this time had to settle for fifth, while Paas placed seventh.
Robin Jäätma ranked ninth among the men.
In the world rankings, Paas climbed to sixth place, Lisell Jäätma is now 13th, and Robin Jäätma is in 26th place.
"I'm disappointed by another narrow loss, but overall, I'm satisfied with my shooting," Pärnat, who had recently taken a month-long break from competition and training due to pneumonia, said afterwards.
"I'm not in peak physical condition, but I managed to stay focused and perform at a high level," she went on.
Coach Siret Luik said: "Reena is now at the top of the World Indoor Series rankings, and getting to compete in the final in Las Vegas would be guaranteed, but unfortunately, our budget doesn't allow for the trip."
"The World Championships in Korea and the long outdoor season must take priority," she added.
