"I express my sincere sympathy to the families of the victims of this tragic event. Our thoughts are with the victims and with the American people today."

At least 17 people were killed in a school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect was caught and an investigation is underway.
