Second call for Estonia-Latvia program proposals launched

The Estonian Ministry of Finance has launched a second call for proposals for the distribution of €5 million to qualifying projects in the framework of the Estonia-Latvia program.
The €5 million is to be distributed to projects focusing on natural and cultural heritage-based tourism, sustainable lifestyle, joint water economy and cross-border labor relations.
"We're looking forward to all ideas and projects that will improve the living environment of people residing in border regions," Minister of Public Administration Mihhail Korb said in a press release. According to the minister, all applicants from Western and Southern Estonia as well as the Kurzeme, Pierīga, Rīga and Vidzeme regions of Latvia are welcome.
The deadlines for propsals in the current round is May 12.
The maximum duration of a project is three years and each project must involve at least one Estonia and one Latvian partner. The minimum rate of own financial contribution for Estonian and Latvian beneficiaries is 15 percent.
The Estonia-Latvia program is part of the EU's Cohesion Policy. The program is supported with €35.2 million by the European Regional Development Fund in 2014-2020. In the first round of grant applications, €15 million was distributed to a total of 28 projects.
