Liis Lemsalu Becomes Pop Idol 2011

On Saturday night, 18-year-old Liis Lemsalu from Tallinn was deemed winner of the final round of the popular talent-search TV show by the televoting public.
"Eesti otsib superstaari," the Estonian version of "Pop Idol," which ran all spring on TV3, rose to a crescendo on Saturday with a vocal duel between Lemsalu and Artjom Savitski.
Lemsalu, who was voted back on track by the audience in the wildcard round on April 10, charmed viewers with her rendering of Etta James's "At Last," Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" and Siiri Sisask's "Mis maa see on" ("What Land Could it Be").
The jury consisted of singer Maarja-Liis Ilus, TV-personality and former rock band foreman Mihkel Raud and the renowned composer and pianist Rein Rannap. As the winner, Lemsalu is automatically booked for a record deal with Universal Music and walks home with a 10,000 euro cash prize.
