Night Song Festival Opens Tartu Student Days

The opening event of Tartu Student Spring Days was held on the Tartu song festival groundslast night, ushering in a week of merry-making.
Initially planned for Kassitoome park, a semi-natural amphitheater, the event had to be moved to the song festival grounds due to soggy conditions from the late snowmelt this year. The new location fit more people, reported ETV.
More than 150 events are planned for this week, which is broken up by the May 1 public holiday and the Walpurgis revelry the night before. A student will be selected at a superhero competition on Wednesday and an endurance competition is scheduled for Friday, where students have to keep their hand on a vehicle for as long as possible. The longest “holder” will get the car for the summer.
The Spring Student Days will run through Sunday.
