British soldier based in Tapa dies

A British Army soldier serving with First Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (First Fusiliers) in Estonia has died, the United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence has announced.
"It is with great sadness that the Ministry of Defence must announce the death of a soldier from The First Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers," the U.K. defence ministry wrote on its website on Tuesday.
"Fusilier Sam Brownridge died of a non-battle injury while deployed on Operation Cabrit in Estonia, on Sunday, July 5 2020."
"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this tragic time."
Operation Cabrit refers to the U.K. component of the NATO Enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) Battlegroup in Estonia, based at Tapa, east of Tallinn.
The eFP Battlegroup is British-led.
First Fusiliers said on its own social media page that: "It is with great sadness that the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers must announce the death of Fusilier Sam Brownridge. At this most difficult time, our heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and fellow soldiers. Once a Fusilier Always a Fusilier.
On his own social media page, commander of the eFP Col. Paul Clayton said that: "The thoughts and condolences of all the staff in the enhanced Forward Presence Command in Tallinn go out to the family and friends of Fusilier Sam Brownridge at this sad time. To all members of the First Fusiliers battle group - stay strong and stay close at this difficult time."

An armored infantry battalion, First Fusiliers have been in Estonia since March.
