Drivers are being advised to be careful on Wednesday evening due to ice on the roads in northern Estonia as temperatures will hover around 0 degrees Celsius, the Transport Agency (Transpordiamet) has warned.

The agency is advising drivers to adjust their speed and driving style to the conditions and if possible to postpone journeys. It also recommends heavy trucks avoid side roads.

There will also be fog in the west and the temperatures will be above 0 across the rest of Estonia.

To see up to date information about the conditions on the road check tarktee.mnt.ee in English, Russian or Estonian.

There were 275 road accidents overnight due to ice on the roads across the country and half of the accidents were in Tallinn.
