Nordea-DNB joint bank in Baltics to be called Luminor
The new bank created in the merger of Nordea and DNB operations in the Baltics is to carry the name Luminor, a brand created by British consultation company Future Brand.
"We are pleased to present Luminor as the name of the future bank, which carries a promise to our customers as well as employees," Nils Melngailis, chairman of the supervisory board of the new bank, said. He added that the bank's goal is to assure a better life for local people and better business opportunities for local enterprises.
"We are building a new bank as well as new brand of financial services," Luminor CEO Erkki Raasuke said, adding that the three pillars of the new bank are people first, quality in everything and clear goals.
DNB and Nordea have said the merger of their Baltic operations has been going as planned and should be completed in the second quarter of 2017, creating the second biggest bank in the Baltic countries.
