Ratas, Saar, Ilves to attend World Economic Forum in Davos
At the 2018 World Economic Forum in Davos, Estonia is represented by Prime Minister Jüri Ratas (Center), Minister of Culture Indrek Saar (SDE), and former President Toomas Henrik Ilves.
The WEF is opening on Monday next week. The annual event brings together the world's political and business elite. The dominant issues on the agenda are the impact of digitization and technology, and the environmental factor in the development of societies and economies around the planet.
Minister of Culture Indrek Saar will attend an informal conference on the side of the WEF organized for the signatory states of the European Cultural Convention as well as the observer states on the Council of Europe, to take place on Jan. 21 and 22 in Davos.
The conference serves as the opening event of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage. One of the issues on the agenda is the need to highlight the importance of Baukultur and spatial development for European society in general, and its influence as an essential determining factor in the quality of life.
Saar will also hear the presentations delivered at the forum on Tuesday, while Prime Minister Jüri Ratas will travel to Davos on Wednesday.
Participants in this year's Davos forum include U.S. President Donald Trump, and former Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves.
