The government discussed issues pertaining to the administrative reform at its Thursday Cabinet meeting, however they failed to reach an agreement regarding municipalities being forced to merge.

ERR was informed by the government press office that the discussion in the Cabinet was concluded, however the government would continue to discuss the topic, as in the case of exceptions to the mergers, it is necessary to thoroughly weigh all arguments in favor and against them and the final decision must be a united one.

Going forward, Cabinet members will meet in various formats and, according to the press office, it cannot be ruled out that discussion regarding the administrative reform will be brought up during coalition agreement- and tax package-related meetings.

The Cabinet's agenda on Thursday included an overview of the current state of the administrative reform by the Minister of Public Administration.
