Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu and head of the Estonian Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) Marko Mihkelson is currently on a visit to the U.S. with a delegation of the Defence and Security Committee of the NATO PA.
While in Washington, the delegation will meet with representatives from the Department of State and Department of Defense as well as participate in a panel discussion on security at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), according to a Riigikogu press release.
The Defence and Security Committee is also scheduled to visit Joint Base Charleston and the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown (CV-10), one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers built for the U.S. Navy during World War II.
While in Charleston, the committee delegation will also visit the final assembly site of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner as well as the Military College of South Carolina.
