Prosecutor's office suggests Lihula shooter be arrested on Monday evening
The prosecutor's office will submit a request at the end of Monday's working day to the court to arrest the 34-year-old man currently detained on suspicion of shooting two people in Lihula.
Liivi Reinhold, a press adviser at the Western District Prosecutor's Office, told ERR the arrest request would be submitted to the court on Monday afternoon. The application must be granted by a court and the suspect can then be taken into custody.
On Saturday night, the currently detained man caused an accident at the Lihula Olerex petrol station and later opened fire on people a few kilometers away, killing two and seriously injuring two others.
The condition of the three- and five-year-old children who was injured in the shooting is stable, Tiina Eier, the communications manager of Tallinn Children's Hospital, told ERR on Monday.
Western prefect Kaido Kõplas told "Vikerhommik" people who were close the shooting should contact the police. Kõplas said this will enable the necessary evidence to be gathered.
