The number of people with undetermined citizenship living in Estonia has fallen below 70,000.

Data from the population register shows 69,993 people with undetermined citizenship lived in Estonia as of July 1 this year.

As of January 1 of this year, there were 71,051 people with undetermined citizenship living in Estonia, and as of January 1, 2019 a total of 76,148 residents had undetermined citizenship.

As of July 1, 2010, altogether 99,173 people with undetermined citizenship lived in Estonia. As of July 1, 2015, a total of 88,763 people with undetermined citizenship lived in Estonia.

The number of young people with undetermined citizenship has also fallen significantly over the course of 10 years.

While as of July 1, 2010, there were 1,914 people of undetermined citizenship aged 15 or less living in Estonia, then as of July 1, 2020, there were only 133 people of undetermined citizenship aged 18 or less living in Estonia.

Citizens of 149 countries living in Estonia

In addition to Estonian citizens and people with undetermined citizenship, there are citizens of another 149 countries living in Estonia, it appears from the population register.

According to the population register, there were 1,133,372 Estonian citizens living in Estonia as of July 1. Russian citizens living in Estonia numbered 85,433, people with undetermined citizenship 69,993 and Ukrainian citizens 10,968.

As of July 1, there were 7,377 Finnish citizens living in Estonia.

Number of Ukrainian citizens living in Estonia has doubled in 10 years

The population register shows there are approximately 11,000 Ukrainian citizens living in Estonia, and the number of Ukrainian citizens living in Estonia has doubled in ten years.

According to the population register, as of July 1, there were altogether 10,968 Ukrainian citizens living in Estonia. As of January 1 this year, there were 10,400 Ukrainian citizens living in Estonia, and as of January 1 last year, 9,771 Ukrainian citizens.

As of July 1, 2010, there were 5,087 Ukrainian citizens and as of July 1, 2015, altogether 6,622 Ukrainian citizens living in Estonia. Thus, the number of Ukrainian citizens living in Estonia has doubled in the last 10 years.
