Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), Switzerland's largest air carrier, is to open a route between Tallinn and Zürich in late June.

Eero Pärgmäe, commercial manager at Tallinn Airport, said the development was some long-awaited, positive news.

"We are pleased to announce that, despite the difficult situation in aviation, we can also open new routes and welcome new airlines. Züich has had untapped potential so far - Estonians have been very interested in flying to Switzerland, but there are still few opportunities to do so. At the same time, Swiss people have shown great interest in coming to discover Estonia," said Pärgmäe.

The flights are scheduled to run twice weekly on Fridays and Sundays, ERR reports, starting June 25.
