Former Estonian Air chief hired by Nordica
Erki Urva, former CEO of the bankrupted Estonian Air, joined Estonian state-owned carrier Nordica this week, where he will serve as director of partner relations.
Urva, who served as CEO of Estonian Air from 2002-2005, said that he will be tasked with maintaining and developing relationships with partners both in Estonia and abroad, reported daily Postimees (link in Estonian).
This will include, for example, cooperation with Polish state-owned LOT Polish Airlines, but also the operation of outsourced flights for Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), with whom an agreement was recently signed.
"As all of these relationships are new, they require development and falling into place — that is my duty," said Urva, adding that, as new challenges, he definitely wants to find additional such partners for whom to operate outsourced flights.
