The Estonian state-owned airline Nordica carried 43,700 passengers in collaboration with the Polish carrier LOT in April this year, which is 42 percent more than in the same month a year ago.

Nordica said they had been determined to grow for several successive months.

Nordica operated 749 scheduled fights during April, and performed an undisclosed number of flights for partners outside Estonia.

According to data provided by Tallinn Airport, Nordica had a market share of 23 percent in scheduled flights to and from Tallinn in April, and with that share was the number one airline. The highest numbers of passengers were carried on the Stockholm and Munich routes.

In April the airline signed a deal to acquire two more Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft with the help of LHV Bank, one of which will start serving Nordica’s own network of routes while the other will fly for LOT. One of the existing CRJ700s in Nordica’s fleet will be replaced with a larger CRJ900, the smaller plane to be kept as a substitute aircraft at Tallinn Airport.

The new aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in June and July this year.
