State-owned Estonian airline Nordica carried a total of 41,200 passengers in March in cooperation with strategic partner LOT Polish Airlines, an increase of 57 percent on year.
During the first three months of 2017, the airline carried over 107,100 passengers, a 67 percent increase over the same period last year.
Nordica operated 786 regular flights in March, 20 percent more than in March 2016, to which flights operated for partners outside of Estonia were added.
Nordic Aviation Group, which operates under the name Nordica, was established in fall 2015 to ensure the continuation of direct flights in the event of previous flag-carrier Estonian Air's bankruptcy. In March 2015, Estonian Air carried 45,472 passengers.
During its first financial year, which lasted 15 months, Nordica posted a total loss of €14.4 million and €51 million in revenue.
