This Friday, Tõravere's Tartu Observatory will host a Christmas mood concert by soulful soprano Kristina Vähi and dynamic and expressive pianist Riina Pikani. The repertoire is to include works by Schumann, Tubin, Ojakäär and others.

5th Kolga Christmas Fair

The three-day Kolga Christmas Fair, the town's fifth, will offer dance, theater, music and enjoyment for children and adults alike.

Tartu Wintry Folk Dance Day 2017
Town Hall Square, Tartu

Dancers from Tartu and Tartu County will perform Estonian folk dances and simple social dances in Tartu's Town Hall Square. Violinist Indrek Kalda will add to the magic, and folk dance specialist, teacher and lecturer Vaike Rajaste will tie the event together. The whole celebration will be directed by Kati Grauberg-Longhust. Come and see — and perhaps even join in! — some of the most well-loved Estonian folk dances!

Ansip whitewashes party financing scandal, blames whistleblower instead

Former prime minister and long-time Reform Party chairman Andrus Ansip, now the EU's commissioner for the digital single market, has accused former Reform member and present-day Social Democrat Silver Meikar of having taken money for himself that was supposed to go to the party as a personal donation. Ansip also gave Reform's 2012 financing scandal a fresh coat of white paint.
