Kallas to leave European Parliament this summer
MEP Kaja Kallas (Reform/ALDE) has submitted an application for the position of party chair to Reform Party headquarters. She also plans to leave the European Parliament this summer.
Kallas personally confirmed this to ERR, adding that, as far as she knows, there are currently no other candidates for the party's top spot.
This also means, however, that Kallas will be leaving the European Parliament. She plans on communicating with officials regarding exactly what steps need to be taken in order to do so.
"This will likely happen in the second half of the summer," Kallas noted, adding that a plenary meeting is scheduled for July.
Kallas' alternate in the European Parliament is Reform MP Igor Gräzin.
It was previously confirmed that MP Keit Pentus-Rosimannus will be running for a position on the Reform Party board.
The deadline for applying to run for the party board or chairperson thereof is Thursday night at midnight.
The Reform Party will be voting for a new board and party chair at a congress scheduled for April 14.
