Gallery: Estonia's most important monuments decorated with hats and scarves

Dozens of sculptures around Estonia were dressed up in blue-black-white hats and scarves on Thursday on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.

Iconic statues of past heads of state as well as characters out of Estonia's Kalevipoeg epic and other historically significant figures were dressed up in the scarves.

According to Margus Kasterpalu, in charge of the centennial's larger events, anyone who would like to decorate monuments in their area is invited to do so, though he suggests they should agree on it beforehand with their local council.
