Metropolitan Kornelius of the Estonian Orthodox Church yesterday gave his blessing to German-built church bells that arrived last week and are being installed in the bell tower of the Lasnamäe Orthodox Church.
Lasnamäe district spokesman Maksim Volkov said that three of the bells were installed on Monday and the rest we will be put in place on Tuesday, reported rus.err.ee. The bell tower will be opened on May 5.
With construction spanning close to a decade, the Lasnamäe church is nearing completion and the official opening is planned for September 29.
That event will be preceded by the church's first service when Moscow Patriarch Kirill visits in June.
