No more than 20 children per group in student summer camps this year

Tallinn student summer camps (Estonian: malev) offer 800 places for students this summer, but a group can not exceed 20 people.
Head of the Tallinn Õpilasmalev foundation Ott Väli said at a City of Tallinn press conference on Wednesday that, according to the orders of the Ministry of Education and Research, out-of-group contacts in the student summer camps groups must be minimized.
"Adjusting to these rules doesn´t mean anything complicated for us. Essentially, our job is to send the groups to the entrepreneurs that are offering the jobs. This means that the groups get spread around Estonia, they are independent, they have separate catering," Väli commented.
Väli conceded that this year, the variety of different fields is smaller than it has been previously, due to the emergency situation.
"There are no summer festival organizing works this year; the number of posts within the tourism sector decreased sharply and, for example, the service sector is much smaller than in previous years. We were able to make up for the missing companies with agricultural work," Väli said.
Väli added that the grand opening event of the student summer camps will also be canceled, and the closing event is still in question too.
Young people can register for the summer camp on May 25 at 3 p.m. on the Tallinn Õpilasmalev website (link in Estonian).
