Pärnu receives summer capital of Estonia title

The astronomical summer began on Sunday and Pärnu became the summer capital of Estonia for the 25th time. Following tradition, the title was handed over to Pärnu by the capital Tallinn.

At the hanover event in Pärnu on Sunday, Aivar Riisalu, Deputy Mayor of Tallinn said: "For a quarter of a century, we have entrusted the title of summer capital to Pärnu, who has held it with dignity."

Pärnu Mayor Romek Kosenkranius said: "I invite everyone to Pärnu this summer, we are pleased to host guests after a difficult corona spring. I wish everyone, but especially my dear fellow citizens, a beautiful warm summer and happy moments in our daily lives, we deserve a vacation and an opportunity to enjoy the summer."

Representatives from other Estonian seasonal capitals Türi (spring), Otepää (winter) and Narva (autumn).
