Health Board warns of Stroomi Beach water quality
The Health Board (Terviseamet) announced on Thursday that the water quality at Stroomi Beach has deteriorated, and until analyses indicating an improvement, swimming is strongly not recommended there.
The Health Board announced on its social media account that a sample taken from the water at Stroomi Beach shows the quality of water has got worse. The sample showed heightened traces of Enterococcus and Escherichia coli, bacteria that live in the intestines of humans and other warm-blooded animals.
The bacteria is being monitored because it is a solid indicator for possible fecal pollution. An additional sample was taken on Thursday to check if the detected pollution was not simply a temporary phenomenon.
