Gallery: Tallinn goes medieval for two days

Saturday marked the beginning of the 21st Medieval Days in Tallinn.

The celebration was kicked off with a procession that started near the Viru Gate and was followed by the opening ceremony in the Town Hall Square (Raekoja Plats), "Aktuaalne kaamera" reported.

The heart of the Tallinn Medieval Days is the Masters' Market in the Town Hall Square that offers concerts, medieval entertainment and sustenance. Medieval workshops and classes are available and various games typical of the era on offer. The Medieval Days also have a small knight school, with instructions by professional swordfighters and garment specialists. Plague doctors are out and about.

Participants also include carpenters and expert builders, with information about life in the medieval times available here and there.
