Gallery: Kadriorg celebrates 302nd anniversary
On Wednesday, the Kadriorg Art Museum and Park celebrated the 302nd anniversary of the completion of Kadriorg Castle and park with a live concert.
A number of well-known soloists, such as Elina Nechayeva, Madis Arro, German Gholami and Birgit Varjun performed on the stage by the flower garden. They were accompanied by the All-Estonian Youth Symphony Orchestra (ÜENSO) with conducted by Jüri-Ruut Kangur.
The performance featured rock and classical music, alternating with magical dance numbers. Utopia Conceptual, the visual theater, portrayed stories through movement and dance by creating the mood of dreams.
This year marks the 302nd anniversary since the founding of Tallinn's Kadriorg district. The birthday of Kadriorg Castle and park is celebrated every year on July 22 because on this day in 1718, the Russian Tsar Peter I and the Italian architect Nicola Michetti arrived in Kadriorg and determined the general location and planning principles of the future castle and park.
