The executive committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided on Thursday that the 2018 UEFA Super Cup final will take place in Tallinn.

“It is definitely a great recognition of Estonian football and a gift to Estonian football fans. A match between the winners of the Champions League and the Europa League is the absolute top match to take place in Estonia. I want to thank everybody who helped us get to this point, on the national, local as well as the Football Association level,” Aivar Pohlak, chairman of the Estonian Football Association, said.

The winner of the UEFA Champions League and the winner of the UEFA Europa League will meet in the final of the UEFA Super Cup. The match is broadcast in more than 200 countries around the world.

The match in Tallinn will take place on Aug. 14, 2018 at Lilleküla Arena, also known as the A. Le Coq Arena.

The match will take place during Estonia’s jubilee year. “I am especially glad that we were able to make a great contribution to the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia,” Pohlak added.
