US company Bird launches scooter rentals in Tallinn
U.S. micromobility company Bird has launched its electric scooter rental service in Tallinn, rolling out its first black and yellow scooters in the Estonian capital on Saturday morning.
In early March, Tallinn City Center District Elder Vladimir Svet (Center) said that five companies have expressed interest in offering electric scooter rental services in Tallinn this summer, among them Bolt and CityBee, both of which offered scooter rentals last summer. CityBee later announced, however, that it does not intend on returning to Tallinn this year.
Another company that has already begun renting electric scooters in Tallinn this year is the Estonian company Tuul, which uses electric scooters developed and produced in Estonia from 40 percent reused materials.
Founded in 2017, Bird operates in more than 100 cities in Europe, the Middle East and North America.
