President presents ranks to promoted, newly commissioned forces officers
President Kersti Kaljulaid conferred new officer ranks on 160 regular and reservist defense personnel Wednesday. She also presented newly promoted Brigadiers General Enno Mõts and Ilmar Tamm – the latter is to take up a post as commander of the Baltic Defense College (Balti Kaitsekolledž) in Tartu.
Most newly commissioned officers are graduates of the academy, from various courses and departments.
The president also presented rank to new Estonian Navy (Eesti Merevägi) Ivo Värk.
Newly commissioned or promoted officers are presented with their ranks by the president at the proposal of the commander of the Estonian Defense Forces, Maj. Gen. Martin Herem, under the terms of the Military Service Act.
