State weather service: Jaanipäev temperatures up to 28C
The beginning of the week shows signs of some real summer weather due for the national holiday mid-week, with temperatures up to 28C on Jaanipäev, Wednesday, and on Thursday, the temperature may top that. The Jaanipäev break will see patches of rain in places, however.
According to the state weather service (Riigi ilmateenistus), it will be clear on Monday night going into Tuesday, with some patches of rain cloud in places. A light easterly breeze of 1-6 m/s will accompany that, with temperatures of 9-14C, and, in some places on the coast, 17C.
Tuesday, June 23, a national holiday, will see similar conditions, though with the wind switching to a westerly direction; daytime temperatures will be 21-26C, though cooler in some coastal areas.
Jaanipäev (Wednesday, June 24) itself will be a continuation of this; overnight will be 10-15C, a light westerly breeze and patches of rain in parts. During the day the temperatures will be 22-28C, though again cooler (around 18C) in coastal areas.
Wednesday night temperatures are set to be 12-17C; Thursday daytime will both be even warmer at 23-29C and around 20C on the coast, though with a stronger breeze (up to 10 m/s in coastal areas) and clearer skies, the weather service says.
