Lucky winner hits €10.8 million jackpot in Viking Lotto draw

One lucky Estonian hit the jackpot in Wednesday's Viking Lotto draw, claiming an Estonian record-breaking €10.8 million. By comparison, most domestic lottery top prize hauls are in the hundreds of thousands of euros.

The winner's precise total sum is €10,803,379.70, and the winning ticket was bought online.

The lottery numbers on the winning ticket were: 11, 18, 20, 30, 45, 46 with the extra Viking number being 2.

This win marks the biggest lotto score in Estonian history, the largest amount won in Estonia prior to Wednesday was €1 million and the Estonian record was €1.155 million, won in Eurojackpot. Both of these happened in 2016.

2020 has been a good year for Estonian lotto players, this is the eighth major win coming to Estonia this year. A €907,269 win was collected in a Bingo loto draw and €659,116 in a Eurojackpot draw.

Eesti Loto has paid out €13.2 million in total winnings in the first five months of 2020 and has handed over €5.9 million in gambling taxes to the state.
