EKRE to hold congress on Saturday
EKRE Congress is taking place on Saturday where seven party members will run for the three positions of deputy chairman of the party. No opponent has run as a chairman of the party to Martin Helme, who is running for chairman.
The candidates for Deputy Chairman's position are the current chairman of the party, Minister of the Interior Mart Helme, Member of European Parliament Jaak Madison, Speaker of the Riigikogu Henn Põlluaas and Member of the Riigikogu Kert Kingo, Alar Laneman, Siim Pohlak, and Urmas Reitelmann.
38 people are candidates for the 11-member board: Merry Aart, Arvo Aller, Jüri Böhm, Peeter Ernits, Urmas Espenberg, Helle-Moonika Helme, Rudolf Jeeser, Mart Järvik, Ruuben Kaalep, Tiit Kala, Mart Kallas, Harri Kingo, Kert Kingo, Rene Kokk, Helle Kullerkupp, Siimo Lopsik, Merike Lumi, Jaak Madison, Meelis Malk, Daniel Mereäär, Meelis Padar, Siim Pohlak, Anti Poolamets, Paul Puustusmaa, Henn Põlluaas, Malle Pärn, Urmas Reitelmann, Kairet Remmak-Grassmann, Kai Rimmel, Ülle Rosin, Raul Siem, Urmas Simon, Rein Suurkask, Toivo Tasa, Sven Tehu, Jaak Valge, Veiko Hartwig Valgepea, Kadri Vilba.
Mart Helme announced last Saturday that he was standing down from his position as chairman.
EKRE's congress is taking place on July 4 in Estonian Fair Center (Eesti Näituse messikeskus, next to Tallinn Song Festival Grounds) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The congress will elect the new chairman of the party, three vice-chairmen, eleven members of the board, and fifteen council members. The Congress also elects the Audit Committee and the members of the Court of Honor.
