The annual Haanja ski marathon due to take place this Saturday in Võru County has been canceled, as the result of lock-down arising from the coronavirus situation.

The government announced Tuesday evening that only professional sports competitions and events can be held; the Haanja marathon, the final stage of the Estoloppet series for this season, welcomes amateurs, and had been given the go-ahead in January.

The current regime is set to remain in place at least until March 28, as things stand, though people with disabilities may also engage in sporting activity during that time.
