Police and Border Guard ready to restore border control if necessary
The Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) said on Saturday that if necessary, they were ready to restore border control during Estonia's EU presidency, which will last from July 1 to Dec. 31.
Priit Parkna, PPA’s deputy director general, said that the board was ready to restore border control on the internal border during Estonia's EU presidency, but based on current risk assessment, the probability for that need was low.
Parkna also said that during the presidency, more frequent inspections of tickets and personal documents would be carried out on ships.
