Tallinn Zoo Gets Two Rhinos
Two black rhinoceroses arrived in Tallinn Zoo from Germany over the weekend.
Kigoma and Kibibi, the first a male and the second a female, are both three years old, Õhtuleht reported. Kigoma, named after a city by Lake lake Tanganyika, was born in Berlin Zoo; and Kibibi, meaning "girl" in Swahili, was born in Krefeld. The species are native to Kenya and Tanzania.
The rhinos will be open to viewing for the public beginning May 15.
The zoo's last rhino died in 2010 at the age of 41.
"Right now the most important thing is for the animals to calm down, and that will take time,“ said Tallinn Zoo director Mati Kaal.
